New Film To Show Atheists In A More Positive Light

Director Matthew Chapman says that he hopes his new film, “The Ledge”, staring Liv Tyler and Terrence Howard, will portray atheists in a positive light and encourage audiences to think more freely on the topics of atheism and agnosticism.

“There are a lot of us; we are thinking people; we care about many of the same issues as believers, and yet we are rarely heard and widely hated.” said Chapman, who is not only atheist himself but is also a descendant of the great Charles Darwin.

The film has been nominated for best drama at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

“People of faith, especially Catholics are used to being trashed by Hollywood but they are not accustomed to films that promote atheism.” said the President of the Conservative Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, Bill Donahue, in response to the film.
