Telepaths own everything in the known universe, and they just collectively voted to welcome Thomas as one of their own. After all, Thomas is an orphaned telepath who might become a powerful leader–never mind his neuromuscular disease, and never mind the fact that he grew up on a backwards, “primitive” planet known as Earth. Telepaths will never dismiss Thomas as too young or too disabled to achieve greatness.
But he’s not allowed to rescue his able-bodied foster family and friends. He needs to act like a civilized telepath and let the humans die in an alien slave ghetto.
Escape is impossible. Secrets are impossible among networked telepaths. Defiance is impossible, because the telepath masses always get what they want. The only way Thomas can save the people he loves is to win the respect of the most influential telepaths. But time is running out for the slaves, and Thomas has never been good at popularity.
